Key takeaways

Mysterious phenomena are a general term for phenomena that cannot be explained by modern scientific knowledge or are scientifically irrational, including psychic phenomena, fortune telling, UFOs, and paranormal powers. Mysterious phenomena are also called supernatural phenomena, paranormal phenomena, the occult, and supernatural beliefs.

Although there are many different objects that come to mind as mysterious phenomena, these phenomena are not defined by a specific object, but rather are composed of a set of logical mechanisms and belief mechanisms, and their characteristics include:

1. Undoubtedly believing in the existence of phenomena that cannot be explained by modern scientific knowledge,

2. Disregarding scientific reasoning,

3. Even if something has been explained scientifically, they will sense flaws in its methodology or rationality,

and so on.

Belief in mystical phenomena not only induces devotion resulting from deep respect and persistence to creeds, principles, ideas, or iconic figure, but can also lead to comprehensive cognitive and emotional behaviors and attitudes, including positive action and active support.

There have been extensive theories, speculations, and research on the relationship between Hitler (or Nazism) and mysticism (or occultism), but it is highly likely that the mystical image created by Hitler and his sympathizers incited the masses, and there is no doubt that at the very least, the Nazi schemes and tactics of extracting hidden secrets from unknown phenomena not incorporated into the system of modern science and using this hidden knowledge as a medium to transform the reality of the masses (Germanic peoples) to a higher level received tremendous support and led to sympathetic actions from the mentally and economically exhausted populace due to the Great Depression, hyperinflation, and the devastation caused by WWI.

In other words, Hitler realized that the “masses react based on emotion and sentiment rather than rational judgment”, and by combining policy with mysticism, he was able to exploit to the maximum extent the mentally fragile and exhausted masses.

Incidentally, the fundamental characteristic of mysticism is said to be the experience of oneness between the absolute and the self, known as mystical union (unio mystica).

To become one with the Absolute, which transcends humans, means to become one with something completely different from the ordinary self, and therefore can only be realized through breaking away from the self, through the boundaries of the self. In other words, becoming one with the Absolute means escaping from the self, and mystics can awaken to their true selves by achieving the experience known as ecstasy (self-abandonment, self-forgetfulness).

This is because the self is completely absorbed into the presence of the Absolute and becomes nothing, which can result in a loss of objectivity from the Absolute, but conversely, this becomes the basis of the true self. This transegoic union, which is the complete death and resurrection of the self, is the essence of mystical experience.

Furthermore, the mystical experience of union itself is temporary and has no lasting power, so it induces an addictive quality that intensifies until it reaches the ultimatum state. This is also evident from the fact that the evil deeds of the satanists (or the Sirius worshippers = so-called the rulers) continue with increasing brutality and cruelty, such as committing mass genocide against commoners, destroying natural immunity, and altering the innate nature of humanity, all under the guise of preventive medicine.

The topic has suddenly gone off on a tangent right from the start, but the theme I wanted to talk about today is so-called UFOs.

Here are the differences between the definitions of UFO and UAP:

* UFOs: Unidentified flying objects, often assumed to be alien spacecraft.

* UAPs: Unidentified aerial or anomalous phenomena, used to describe unexplainable sights.

In June 1947, pilot Kenneth Arnold said he saw a bright, unidentified object flying in the sky near Washington’s Mount Rainier, and a few weeks later, military officials announced their possession of a “flying saucer” after a rancher in Roswell, New Mexico, discovered strange debris on his property. The term “UFO” was added to the world’s vocabulary by the U.S. Air Force in 1952, five years after the Roswell sighting, USA Today reported.

Since then, UFOs have been linked to the belief that extraterrestrials and aliens exist outside of Earth. However, UFOs do not necessarily mean that aliens are visiting Earth, and to dispel public skepticism, government agencies have decided to adopt the term UAP as a term to describe unexplained sights in the sky from 2021. Prior to that, the US military officially acknowledged the existence of mysterious flying objects in September 2019.

Certainly, the image that comes to mind when we think of a UFO is a flying object controlled by an extraterrestrial intelligent life form, and the impression is that the definition is based on the assumption that aliens exist; however, since UAP is a term that refers to unidentified phenomena occurring in the air, it can also be applied to phenomena or objects that have nothing to do with aliens, such as fireballs, plasma, drones or balloons.

It appears that the rulers do not want to make the connection between UFOs, which are considered revolutionary vehicles, and the possible existence of technologically advanced extraterrestrial or intraterrestrial life. However, not all ordinary Earthlings are able to perceive or experience so-called mysterious phenomena, and there are individual differences in attitudes and standards regarding mysterious phenomena.

For example, some possible factors that may lead to belief and skepticism include:

* Belief in mysterious phenomena can be induced by preference (for fortune telling, magic, etc.), absolute acceptance of spirituality, or personal fear.

* Skepticism can be induced by simple aversion, prejudice, or denial based on perception.

* The inclusion of both belief and skepticism is due to intellectual curiosity.

However, belief and skepticism are not necessarily negatively correlated with each other. For example, knowledge-based denial can be based on analytical thinking, but it can also be fear-related and a reactionary rejection of miraculous phenomena in order to counteract that fear.

The Psychology of UFO Sightings (2002) by Susan Clancy notes that UFO sightings tend to be concentrated in certain cultural areas such as the EU and the United States, and suggests that they may be strongly influenced by culture and social background rather than simply by individual sighting experiences. One reason for this, they point out, may be the psychological influence of the media and popular culture that emphasizes the existence of UFOs, which may trigger false memories.

The idea that UFOs are spacecraft used by aliens for transportation is said to have spread over the last 75 years or so as the media has become more prevalent in society, and recent U.S. opinion polls have shown that between 25% and 50% of respondents believe that at least some UFOs are spacecraft occupied by aliens and that aliens are visiting Earth.

However, among those who believe in the existence of UFOs, the percentage of people who have actually seen one is significantly lower than the percentage of people who believe based on images and videos broadcast by the media.

It is true that aliens coming to Earth in UFOs and the possibility of intelligent life somewhere in the universe are completely different stories, but in any case, even if the existence of UFOs is questioned for astronomical or biological reasons, they seem to attract attention whenever the media reports on them as a physical phenomenon, and above all, the unusual experiences recounted by UFO witnesses stimulate the imagination.

In the first place, the fact that UFOs can move at ultra-high speeds and hover in the air suggests the existence of advanced technology far beyond that possessed by humans on Earth, which is already fascinating in itself.

Since they can travel at super-high speeds, if aliens are piloting UFOs, it indulges in all sorts of imagination and speculation, such as how far away they have come from, what kind of highly intelligent life form they are, whether they are equipped with cryogenic sleep devices to put the crew to sleep to prevent their bodies from aging and cellular deterioration during the long journey across space, and whether they can travel to warp speed.

Furthermore, the advanced technology behind the UFO phenomenon never fails to stimulate the imagination and delusions. For example,

* They may be able to freely create wormholes connecting any two points in space-time and travel through space at speeds faster than the speed of light,

* They may be equipped with special shields or force fields to allow them to pass safely without being crushed by gravity,

* They may have a device that changes gravity so that the wormhole does not collapse,

* They may have an unknown energy source that is not affected by gravity or speed,

* What technology is used to defy gravity or move seamlessly in any direction,

and so on, the questions just keep on piling up although it may be impossible to understand it from an Earthling’s perspective.

In other words, these are just speculations and questions from an Earthling perspective, and they may be completely trivial to intelligent extraterrestrial life forms; for example, they may be able to mechanically store or download their consciousness and body and live forever, or they may be able to move in any direction at will without the use of any special technology.

This may be why just thinking about encountering a mysterious phenomenon or something unknown can evoke a mixture of emotions such as anticipation, excitement, and fear.

Yukio Mishima (三島由紀夫, 1925~1970), a novelist who was once nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature, was one person who dreamed of encountering a UFO and made an effort to witness one.

Mishima was fascinated by flying saucers, and it is said that he and his friends tried to spot them from the roof of his house in the middle of the night for several years. But no matter how hard they tried, no flying saucers ever appeared, at least not in front of Mishima. After trying for a while, Mishima suddenly had an epiphany, and it is said that he came to believe that flying saucers must be an artistic concept.

Based on this experience, Mishima wrote A Beautiful Star (美しい星, 1962), a science fiction novel that was unusual for his style. This novel was written in the midst of the intensifying Cold War, and against the backdrop of the fear of human extinction by nuclear weapons and the end of the world, it tells the story of humanity and the Earth from the perspective of a family who realizes that they are extraterrestrials.

Mishima explains the work as follows: “This is the story of a man who believes himself to be an alien, not a story of aliens in human form…To that end, the extraterrestrials who appear in the story had to be completely stripped of their supernatural powers and overwhelmed by worldly pressures…The argumentative sections, which take up one-fifth of the story, are intended to have a sort of tragedy-comic flavor, in which mere humans deal with problems that are beyond the control of humans.”

Here’s a summary of the story:

—–

After midnight, the four members of a family go out to the mountains on the outskirts of town. None of them are human beings from Earth, and they believe that the father is an alien from Mars, the mother from Jupiter, the son from Mercury, and the daughter from Venus. Each of them had previously seen a flying saucer and realized their true identity.

However, the family hides their alien identities from the public and begins to work hard to save humanity from the threat of world destruction and the terror of nuclear weapons, which has become a reality with the development of the hydrogen bomb.

The father foresees the world sliding toward ruin and believes that someone must take responsibility for saving it, so he takes it upon himself to begin traveling around the country, giving lectures on achieving world peace. The daughter also writes a letter to the Soviet government pleading for an end to nuclear testing.

Meanwhile, a group of people claiming to be from an unknown planet near 61 Cygnus wished for the extinction of humanity on Earth, and banded together on a mission to euthanize all of humanity by using hydrogen bombs in a world war, coming into conflict with the father of the family.

The son of the family, who worked as a secretary to a member of parliament, arranges for the member and his friends, a university assistant professor, to meet with his father.

They engage in a lively debate about the imperfections and behavior of the three “interests” (Mishima uses the German word Sorgen. eng: Worry) that are the fatal flaws of human beings: interest in things, interest in humanity, and interest in God. While the professors argue that humans are imperfect and should be destroyed, the father argues that although humans are imperfect, they have a fickle nature that is a virtue of humans, and so hope cannot be given up.

And my father argued that in order for humans to be saved, they must embrace the despair of being alive itself through the emptiness and despair that each person feels, and when that person is fulfilled by the solidarity of emptiness within, all politics will become meaningless, anti-political unity will be possible, and the nuclear button will no longer be pressed. Because this solidarity of emptiness is the prototype of the universe of Mother Nothingness, the father emphasized.

After a heated argument, the father collapses and learns that he has terminal cancer. When the son asks, “When we’re gone, what will happen to the people left behind?” the father looks out at the hustle and bustle of the city and murmurs, “Humans will manage somehow.”

As the family heads for the hills behind town, they spot a flying saucer, a silver-grey color with a brilliant orange glow, coming towards them.

Mishima described flying saucers as “an artistic concept,” but considering that he was influenced by Carl Jung (1875-1961), so his idea may be replaced with what Jung called “archetypal ideas.”

In fact, Jung was also interested in UFOs, and he collected magazine and newspaper clippings containing eyewitness accounts and letters of experiences, and even published Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies (1959).

According to Jung, UFO sightings are a projection of the desire to be saved from anxiety, and at a time when the world was shrouded in a sense of anxiety with no way out after two world wars and leading up to the Cold War, the desire for a savior among people who wanted someone to save them was expressed in the form of UFOs.

For this reason, many of the ideas and concerns that Jung derived and advocated are scattered throughout A Beautiful Star. Furthermore, it seems to provide some clues as to the psychological factors that led Mishima to commit seppuku (harakiri) suicide.

In other words, the awakening of an ordinary Earthling family as extraterrestrials and the hardships that befall them thereafter can be seen as a process of individuation, what Jung called the “manifestation of the self,” and at the end of each family member’s frustration and despair, the flying saucer appears as God (or the self). In the meantime, Mishima may have realized that the realization of salvation like the flying saucer, which he was unable to encounter, was still a long way off.

Jung’s flying saucers are based on the premise that if you push the theory of compensation, which has been supported by experience, to its limits, you will arrive at a paradoxical conclusion. Unquenchable and unfulfilled cravings long for spiritual visions, which are compensation for spiritual thirst and emptiness, and holy images can actually appear. They are visions resulting from unfulfilled urges, but they are visions resulting from unfulfilled urges, but they are said to be real and have real effects.

To add a little more, the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (ETH) seeks the true nature of UFOs as a paranormal phenomenon in some kind of physical entity, such as a spaceship carrying extraterrestrial life, whereas the Psychosocial Hypothesis (PSH) seeks the true nature of UFOs as a spiritual entity, such as what Jung called psychological illusions, hallucinations, or mystical experiences that reflect the innermost depths of one’s own psyche.

According to Jung, the source of UFO images is to be found in a realm of the mind called the collective unconscious, which lies even deeper than the unconscious realm of the individual psyche. Within the collective unconscious exist universal ideas called archetypes that transcend individual experience and are connected to myths and religious imagery. Thus, it seems that this is what is said, the existence of UFOs as a paranormal phenomenon can be understood as a form created when archetypal images that exist in a layer of the collective unconscious are projected onto the outside world.

Moreover, this is apparently why multiple people may witness a UFO at the same time, according to Jung, is that through a phenomenon known as synchronicity, a certain archetypal image that exists at a level of the collective unconscious is shared in the consciousness of multiple people and projected simultaneously out into the outside world.

However, there are in fact numerous cases of UFO sightings and encounters, as well as alien-related out-of-place artifacts (OOPARTS), dating back to ancient times, so it would be hard to say that Jung’s psychological theory is the be-all and end-all for solving or understanding all UFO-related or mystical phenomena.

In fact, many ancient documents and murals give the impression that ancient peoples also encountered UFOs or perhaps even coexisted with humans on Earth, so it would be difficult to dismiss them as merely psychological illusions.

For example, it is said that even the Old and New Testaments contain traces of UFO sightings.

Listed below are a few of them.

1.1 The Bible has many instances where God travels in a flying vehicle, such as in the Book of Exodus, when God leads Moses and the Hebrews out of Egypt.

* And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: (Exodus 13:21)

* He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. (Exodus 13:22)

1.2 God used his heavenly vehicles and weapons to blind and spotlight the Egyptians. God’s physical spacecraft is called the “Angel of God.”

* And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: (Exodus 14:19)

* And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night. (Exodus 14:20)

* And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, (Exodus 14:24)

* And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians. (Exodus 14:25)

1.3 Another name often used for the shiny spaceship that carries the heavenly messenger is the “Glory of the Lord.” This spaceship was often described as a shiny, iridescent or metallic spaceship.

* And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. (Exodus 16:10)

* See also Exodus 19:21-19:24, Exodus 24:15-24:18, and Exodus 33:9-34:5

2. One of the most famous UFO references in the Bible is found in the Book of Ezekiel, describing a divine vehicle hidden in the clouds on wheels that can only be described as a flying saucer, with similarities to many modern day UFO sightings.

* And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.  (Ezekiel 1:4)

* Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.  (Ezekiel 1:5)

* And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.  (Ezekiel 1:6)

* See also Ezekiel 1:7-1:25 and Ezekiel 10:3-10:22.

3. The book of Revelation has several references to God’s minions traveling in the clouds. A fleet of alien spaceships, commanded by the Son of Man in the clouds, receive orders from a mothership and use a transport device called the “Sickle” to gather the humans best suited to the alien plan. The alien mothership, known as the New Jerusalem, then descends into Earth’s atmosphere.

* Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (Revelations 1:7)

* And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. (Revelations 11:12)

* And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. (Revelations 14:14)

* And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. (Revelations 14:15)

* And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. (Revelations 14:16)

* And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Revelations 21:2)

It is thought that the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament may have originated in Mesopotamian mythology due to its similarities to legends such as the flood.

Artifacts from Mesopotamian civilization contain numerous legends related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life forms, such as ancient Sumerian seals depicting UFOs, legends of Enki and giants who are said to have taught humans various knowledge, and Nibiru, the planet home of the Annunaki (or Nephilim) which appears in the books and clay tablets of Zecharia Sitchin, and the list goes on.

In Japan, there are numerous records in classics and paintings of sightings of a UFO called Utsuro-bune (虚舟, or 空穂船 Utsubo-bune) in various places, including Owari and Echigo provinces (1699), Kaga province (1796), Hitachi province (1803), and off the coast of Kobe (1883). Of these, the legend of Utsuro-bune in Hitachi province in 1803 is the most widely known, and was also dealt with by Kunio Yanagita (柳田國男,1875~1962) and Shinobu Orikuchi (折口信夫,1887~1953), who later founded folklore studies.

Orikuchi believed that the Utsubo-bune was shaped like a container because it was necessary for gods from the other world to reside in it until they were transformed into this world, and he seemed to think of it as a vessel for the soul, or in other words, a vehicle for the gods.

Kunio Yanagita dismissed the account of the Utsubo-bune written by Kyokutei Bakin (曲亭馬琴, 1767~1848) in his Toen Shosetsu (兎園小説, 1825) as a nonsense, but even if it was a fabricated story, there must have been some basis for it to be believable, and he cited the legend of the Golden Princess (金色姫伝説) as an example.

Yanagita suggested that since it is said to have reached Japan by wading through the raging waves of Tokoyo, it may have been some kind of submarine, but later, a theory emerged that it might even have been a time machine.

In any case, even just going back through our memories will bring back to our minds one after another the fact that there are many paranormal and mysterious phenomena other than UFOs and extraterrestrial life forms.

For example,

* Allegedly landing in Alexandria, Virginia in 1957, the Venusian Valiant Thor met with President Eisenhower and Vice President Nixon at the Pentagon.

* According to the description of John Titor, who suddenly appeared on the Internet in 2000 and claims to be a time traveler from 2036, his time machine gives the impression of being shaped like a car, but one theory is that it matches the blueprints of a power source that was supposedly under development by former Area 51 employee Robert Lazar, and it is said that it may actually be shaped like a flying saucer.

* The Lacerta Files, which are said to be interviews with a reptilian race named Lacerta conducted in 1999 and 2000, reveal that although they are invisible to normal humans, the reptilian race is the oldest intelligent life form on Earth, having existed for tens of millions of years, and that they have long coexisted with the so-called Earthlings (humans), who arbitrarily believe themselves to be the indigenous race of the planet. Furthermore, regarding the UFO phenomenon, she states that UFOs are operated by the Reptilians or other extraterrestrials and are used for the purpose of observing and intervening in various events on Earth.

In fact, there has been a sharp increase in UFO sightings and encounters in many areas recently, but on the other hand, it sometimes seems that mysterious phenomena including UFOs and extraterrestrial life are being covered up, disguised, or denied for the convenience of the rulers, and are being used as psychological tactics to create a more mysterious impression or to instill fear.

Recently, in addition to the virus turmoils, there have been many artificial weather disasters using the latest technology such as SBSP (space-based solar power satellites) or the H-bomb effect, but these could also be included in the category of mysterious phenomena, because they are accompanied by words such as “unprecedented” and “the greatest in history.”

It is said that the human brain can sometimes fail to correctly recognize unexpected objects due to cognitive biases and optical illusions. One example is the psychological phenomenon known as pareidolia, in which visual or auditory stimuli cause people to imagine familiar patterns in their minds when they do not actually exist.

It is therefore essential to train ourselves to see familiar objects as unfamiliar, to improve our perception, and to continually increase our ability to distinguish between truth and deception.

To do this, it may be a good idea to combine several thinking skills.

For example,

1. Think while inspiring and motivating yourself.

2. Think step by step rather than aiming for the goal right away.

3. Think after having questions.

4. Think while looking at the big picture.

5. Think in a way that increases the number of options and leads to the right choice.

6. Think by connecting different types of ideas.

7. Break things down into smaller parts and think about them.

By developing thinking skills appropriately and improving rational judgment abilities, the commoners may be able to avoid being manipulated and exploited by social influence, peer pressure, and psychological attacks by the rulers.

In any case, in order to avoid the worst-case scenario and to avoid being defeated by the malicious tactics and schemes of the rulers, it can be said that it is mandatory for each and every commoner to make even a little effort to improve their consciousness. By doing so, they will be able to correctly recognize even mysterious phenomena without being misled or confused.
